Just Launched Aug 2026 :)
Wednesday 25 November 2026
1:00 pm–4:00 pm
St Minver Community Hub
£5 per person | Maximum 12 participants
Spend an afternoon learning the foundations of drop-spindle spinning in a relaxed, practical workshop run by Your Local Welfare CIC.
This introductory session is designed for beginners. We’ll explore the basic principles of preparing fibre, starting a yarn and using a drop spindle. You will have time to practise, ask questions and discover how the fibre behaves as you work.
A spindle and fibre will be available to use during the workshop, so you do not need to buy any equipment before attending.
No previous spinning experience is needed. You are welcome to take breaks when needed.
ADHCrafts Beginner’s Drop-Spindle Kits are available separately for anyone who would like to continue practising at home.
Please contact us to arrange advance purchase and collection at the workshop. Kits may also be available to purchase on the day, subject to availability.
Buying a kit is optional and is not required to take part.
The venue advertises:
If anything would help you take part comfortably—including access, communication, seating or sensory requirements—please contact us before the workshop:
happytochat@yourlocalwelfarecic.co.uk
You only need to share what you feel is relevant. We can discuss practical adjustments within the workshop and venue.
